What is the Rumble?
The first edition of Cyber Security Rumble took place in 2019, organized by NVISO and was based on online qualifiers followed by the finals taking place in Bonn, DE over 2 days with the best 13 German student teams. Since 2020, the Rumble is co-organized together with the Red Rocket and, because of the current pandemic, the event is now a full-online 48 hour CTF.
Who can join?
Anyone is allowed to compete in the CTF in teams up to 6 students. To be eligible for prizes, participants must be 18 years of age and be a student in a German university or school. If you have some trouble finding teammates, head over to our Discord channel. The code of conduct available here. The first 3 international CTF teams might also be eligible to honorary prizes.
What kind of challenges?
Over 48 hours, the teams must solve challenges covering a wide range of categories, e.g. crypto, network, reversing, web, mobile, pwning or forensic ... but not Stego; Nobody likes stego. The complexity of challenges ranges from easy up to nightmare. To get a feel for what you can expect you can always head over to the write-ups of the previous edition on CTF Time.
PRIZES FOR THE FIRST 10 GERMAN STUDENT TEAMS (MAX 6 PERSONS)

First till 10th Places
One HAK5 Gadget per team member. A mix of HAK5 gadgets ranging from the Wifi Pinneaple to the Screen Crab, representing a total prize pool of 10k€ offered by NVISO - a cyber security company that offers services that are up against the modern adversary and that help Prevent, Detect & Respond to cyber attacks.
